"As soon as 2010 (Iran) will have the option to reach (uranium production) at military levels."
This would be an "unacceptable" development.
-- Shaul Mofaz, Israeli Deputy Prime Minister, told an audience in Washington

The coincidence of jihadist terrorism and nuclear proliferation, I believe, is one of the most dangerous circumstances facing the human family today. Osama bin Laden says, quote, it is our duty to gain --- our religious duty to gain --- nuclear weapons. And every day, Iran continues to enrich uranium to build a nuclear weapon. Terrorists bide their time. Mr. Chairman, there may well be a day when we all wish that we could revisit this day again, and when we could try to reorder our priorities and perhaps better appreciate a president who was willing to subordinate his popularity with the American people in order to protect them. Mr. Chairman, I know that the full committee does not address itself to any of these subjects today. Instead, it conducts a do-over hearing that amuses our terrorist friends [sic] greatly and that would make Alice in Wonderland roll her eyes.
-- Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.), at the hearing on Executive Power and Its Constitutional Limitations

Iran has resumed work on constructing highly sophisticated equipment that nuclear experts say is primarily used for building atomic weapons.
-- According to the latest intelligence reports received by Western diplomats.

Iran is not making highly enriched uranium suitable for a weapon, only low-enriched uranium useable as nuclear power fuel.
"The results of the environmental samples... indicate that the [enrichment] plants have been operated as declared. The samples show low-enriched uranium... particles."
-- IAEA, the 26 May 2008 report, released on 5 June 2008

North Korea nuclear talks stalled amid disputes
North Korea said it had been forced to slow compliance with the deal reached last February as the other parties to the agreement -- China, Japan, South Korea, Russia and the US -- had not held up their end of the bargain.
The United States says (a) it has evidence that North Korea imported material which could be used in a secret uranium enrichment programme and (b) that United States was still waiting for North Korea's full account of its nuclear programmes.

Ali Larijani announced Iran’s offer of assistance in developing Egypt’s nuclear program. Tehran is already in secret negotiation with an agency representing the Gulf Cooperation Council on nuclear collaboration including a joint uranium enrichment project.
2007-12-29
Iran received its second shipment of enriched uranium from Russian to fuel the still unfinished Bushehr reactor.
2007-12-17
Russia has delivered the first shipment of nuclear fuel -- uranium 235 stored in modules of several fuel rods -- to Iran's Bushehr atomic power station.
A total of 163 main and 17 reserve assemblies of U-235 enriched to 3.62 percent would be delivered for the first loading.
2007-11-30
Negotiators for Iran (Saeed Jalili) and the European Union (Javier Solana) held a new round of talks today on Iran’s uranium enrichment program, but the meeting ended with indications that the Iranians had offered no new concessions to ease Western concerns that Iran plans to develop nuclear weapons.
